Drum Gear
Last update Feb 6, 2011
Here's the set-up I most commonly use. It's my set of Taye StudioMaple drums, in Natural Maple finish. They have fantastic sound, very well-built all-maple shells, and I love them. Sound engineers love them too. Properly tuned, they require very little if any EQ. Kit graphic by
Jim Wright using CorelDraw9 Taye hardware and pedals. Great stuff, rock solid. I'm using Evans Heads these days. They seem to be more consistent than the Remo stuff. I've got coated G2's on the tops of the toms. The bottoms get clear G1's. The snare gets a coated G1, or sometimes a coated G2 if required. The bass drum is a Clear EMAD. Best bass head ever made, in my opinion. Regal Tip drum sticks and brushes. Amazing feel, durability, and crisp sounds. None better.
